NRC has issued Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2007-27, "Improving Public Understanding of the Risks Associated with Medical Events."

Safety Aspects of Industrial Radiography (H-305): 3 new classes added. They are scheduled for:
March 31-April 4, 2008
June 23-27, 2008 and
October 20-24, 2008.
They are all being held in St. Rose, Louisiana. NRC has issued Information Notice 2007-35, "Varian Medical Systems Varisource HDR Events: Iridium-192 Source Pulled From Shielded Position."

The Nuclear Medicine courses are scheduled for March 24-28, 2008 and July 27-August 1, 2008 in Houston, TX.

The Brachytherapy & Gamma Knife courses are scheduled for March 31-April 4, 2008 and August 4-8, 2008 also in Houston, TX.

There are only 16 slots per course. If you had previously submitted a training application for this course when it had no date assigned to it, you need to resubmit a training application with the date you would like to attend the course.

Michigan is the latest State to submit a "Letter of Intent to Become anAgreement State" to the NRC.

Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2006-27, Supplement 1, "Availability of NRC 313A Series of Forms and Guidance for their Completion," was issued on June 27, 2007.

NRC has issued Information Notice 2007-25, "Suggestions From The Advisory Committee On The Medical Use Of Isotopes For Consideration To Improve Compliance With Sodium Iodide I-131 Written Directive Requirements In 10 CFR35.40 and Supervision Requirements In 10 CFR 35.27."

NRC has issued Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2007-14, "Fingerprinting Requirements for Licensees Implementing the Increased Control Order,"
and RIS 2007-15, "Unescorted Access to Materials for Non-Manufacturer and Distributor Service Providers," both of which were issued on June 5, 2007.

NRC recently issued Regulatory Issue Summary 2007-07, "Clarification of Increased Controls for Licensees That Possess Collocated Radioactive Material During Transportation Activities," dated April 5, 2007.

This version of the Management Directive 5.3 has replaced the version that was posted on 04/02/07.

Management Directive 5.3 is currently undergoing administrative review prior to publication. Minor changes may appear in the final document.
